I got my fix!
StitchFix, that is. In my latest attempt to forge through my iniquities in the arena of social media, I recently purchased my first little box of fashion from this fantastic site! As I’ve said before, I’m usually in last place, twirling my hair, daydreaming of the most random things any person could ever imagine. Thus, I am trying anything and everything I can to be “Johnny-on-the-spot” with what is new and exciting, which brings me to today’s post on this snazzy little fashion site called StitchFix. I first heard of StitchFix when Gina posted about it a few months ago and knew I had to give it a shot. I passed along the word to my friend, Heather, who I know is receiving her box this week and will report her thoughts soon–so you should stop by her site to check it out!
If you have a difficult time tapping into your inner fashionista, this is the way to go. Not to mention, when that little box full of goodies arrives at your doorstep, you kind of feel like a celebrity because someone just hand delivered you a wardrobe. Or maybe that’s just me…
Annnnywayyy…. Here is how it works:
And there you have it, I mean, it says it right on the box! Ok, ok, I’ll give you a little more detail than that. But seriously, it doesn’t get much better when you are given step-by-step instructions right on the box.
~First of all, go here to fill out a comprehensive questionnaire of your fashion preferences, lifestyle, size, shape, etc. It’s long, but really fun and made me feel like these people knew what they needed to know in order to give you the best product possible for your desires. Very cool!
~Once you fill out the questionnaire, you can schedule your first fix. I will tell you up front that there is a $20 fee to secure your first delivery, BUT, it is credited to your account so that if you choose to purchase something in your box, you’ve already put $20 towards it.
~Anxiously await your arrival. ~insert Jeopardy! music here~
~The personalized little gem arrives!
Well, hello to you too, sunshine!
A personalized stylist hand-picks a mix of 5 items based on the questionnaire you filled out. I must say, my stylist did a pretty phenomenal job of really picking things that were “me,” and most everything was the perfect size (I cannot help the disproportionate area that encompasses my hips and bum).
Here is what came in my box:
A beautiful navy blue blouse, a lightweight pink sweater, fun polka dot blue jeans, a black skirt, and dainty silver earrings. I loved all of them! It was so hard to choose, but in an attempt to be budget savvy, I only kept the pink sweater…I couldn’t resist! Check out that back!
I absolutely love this sweater and can’t wait to wear it…is it Spring yet!?
~Once you try everything on in your box, you decide what you want to keep and put the rest in a pre-labeled shipping bag by USPS that they include for you! I’m all about convenience when it comes to stuff like that. Mail it back within 3 days and you’re golden. They’ll email you a feedback form to fill out that also asks you to let them know what you’re keeping and what you’re sending back. Pretty easy peasy.
It was so much fun and something new and exciting to try. It is definitely worth it! I would say everything was pretty reasonably priced, fit pretty well (again, those darn hips and bum), and taught me a lesson or two in mixing and matching! By the way, each piece includes this little tag-full-o’knowledge:
Pretty nifty, eh? This right here is what I need. I feel like I have some cute things in my closet, but just stare blankly at them, never knowing what to wear them with. Tears. Too bad they don’t just send a live person to your house to look at your wardrobe and create these bad boys for your closet…now there’s an idea….
So there ya have it! If you’re needing a wardrobe “fix,” you’ll definitely want to check this out!
As a little disclaimer, Stitchfix doesn’t even know I exist, so I am not being sponsored in any way for this post or review. These are my own personal thoughts and items were purchased with my own funds. I just loved the concept and wanted to share!
